Advance tickets for Swainsboro High School’s home game against Fitzgerald on November 16, also the second round of the football state playoffs, will be available to the general public for purchase from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., as well as 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday and Thursday, November 14 and November 15, only.

Christmas parade scheduled for Oak Park

The community of Oak Park will host a Christmas parade on Saturday, December 8. Line-up will begin at 4 p.m., and the parade itself will commence an hour later at 5.

Afterward, Santa Claus will be at the community house for visits.

Food pantry relocation delayed

The relocation of Emanuel County’s food pantry has been delayed until the first of 2019. The pantry will remain open at its current location, The Boneyard, throughout the months of November and December at its regular scheduled hours, which are 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Thursdays. The annual Swainsboro Christmas Parade, Carols on the Square, and Chili Cook-off will be held December 6, 2018.

Organizing the event are the City of Swainsboro, the Downtown Development Authority of Swainsboro (DDA), the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce, and the Swainsboro Jaycees.
