Mary Nell Beasley Stroud, 90

Mary Nell Beasley Stroud, 90, passed away October 1, 2019 at Pruitt Health Nursing Facility in Port Wentworth.

She was born May 17, 1929 in Swainsboro, daughter of the late B.L. Beasley and Missouri Samples Beasley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Stroud, and her first-born grandson, Scotty Stroud. She retired from Hancock Fabrics, where she worked as a sales clerk for more than 25 years. Stroud was a lady with many talents. She loved sewing, ceramics, and cooking for her family. She also loved birds and had a knack for making any plant grow. Even with all these hobbies and a full-time job, she always made time for her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Larry (Donna) Stroud of Savannah and Ted (Becky) Stroud of Rincon; grandchildren, Cyndi Lampp of Guyton, Matt Stroud of Rincon, Mindy Barrett of Guyton, and Kevin Stroud of Savannah; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Elder Sam Bowen officiating. Interment followed at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Friday, October 4, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements were by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
