Farm Bureau bestows memorial scholarship to Dixon

Bridget Dixon was recently awarded the 2019 Dolan E. Brown Memorial Scholarship by Emanuel County Farm Bureau.

Dixon graduated from Swainsboro High School this past spring. During her high school years, she was a member of Kite First Baptist’s youth group, the Citizens Bank Student Advisory Board, and the SHS Band of Gold Danceline. While a member of FFA, she served as secretary, reporter, vice president, and president, as well representing her FFA chapter at the 2018 state convention in discussion meet. As Miss Georgia Coast’s Outstanding Teen, Dixon chose “Agriculture Education: Feeding the Future” as her platform.

Dixon has always had a love for agriculture and created a program in 2017 called “From the Farm to the Table.” With the help of books, a PowerPoint, and a small-scale version of an everyday farm, she was able to educate the primary and elementary school level children about the impact farmers have in their everyday life.

She is attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College…
