Officers with the Swainsboro Police Department (SPD) reported…

July 1

Complainant reported financial transaction card theft.

July 2

Complainant reported theft by taking and criminal trespass after observing two male subjects climbing over a property fence. Three vehicle motors were recovered from where the two offenders were spotted. A case of canned dog food was also said to be missing.

Officer responded to the area of Calhoun Street and Youngblood Street in reference to shots fired. No contact was made while patrolling the area.

Officers responded to a West Main Street address in reference to an intoxicated male driver. Upon arrival, officer made contact with the male subject, who admitted to drinking only a six-pack. Having several beer cans located within the passenger and driver seats, officer requested the driver to step out of the vehicle to perform an HGN test. The driver was unable to complete other tests administered but conducted a breathalyzer test. The driver was then placed under arrest and transported to the Emanuel County Jail. He was later transported to a medical setting after complaining of his foot hurting.

July 3

July 4

Officer received an emergency call from Emanuel County 911 in reference to a subject taking another person’s items at gunpoint on Oak Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the male victim was held at gunpoint and robbed by a known male subject who stole the victim’s house keys, a debit card, and a cell phone. It was further reported that the victim observed the offender pull the trigger of the involved gun and heard it click as if the offender attempted to shoot the victim. No contact was made with the offender.

Officer responded to an address on Lee Street in reference to damaged property. Upon arrival, officer observed a busted glass storm door and a large piece of asphalt laying in the doorway. A witness stated to have seen the offender’s vehicle while the offender drove away. No contact was made.

Officer assisted GSP with a traffic stop.

Officer assisted an additional officer with a traffic stop on Industrial Way. The driver was placed under arrest for speeding, driving with a suspended license, operating an unregistered vehicle, and improper registration. A hold was placed on the offender due to having a warrant out for her arrest.

Officers made two arrests after observing two male subjects fighting. Both were transported to the Emanuel County Jail.

July 5

Emanuel County 911 dispatched officer to an address on Kite Road in reference to threats being made.

Complainant reported being charged by an aggressive dog while at a walking track.

Officer responded to an address on South Main Street in reference to a counterfeit bill.

July 6

Officer attempted to make a traffic stop, which led to a chase. Officer, along with other officers and a sheriff, located the involved vehicle parked at an address on Strawberry Circle, abandoned, and the offender had fled on foot.

Officer responded to an address on Freedom Street in reference to a miscellaneous report.

Officer responded to an address on Project Street in reference to missing car keys and a phone.

Complainant reported being held at gunpoint by three unknown male subjects who were demanding the complainant’s prescribed medication.

Officer was dispatched to a South Main Street address in reference to a shoplifter. Upon making contact with offender, officer noticed the offender holding an item which was removed from its original package by the use of a razor. The subject was detained until video footage could be further reviewed. While being detained, officer patted down the offender and located a small bag of white substance, believed to be methamphetamine. Once video footage displayed the actions of the offender, he was then placed under arrest and transported to the Emanuel County Jail.

July 7

Officer attempted to make a traffic stop which led to a high-speed chase. During the chase, the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off-road, and lost the driver’s side front wheel due to jumping a ditch. Officer then established a rolling roadblock with additional officers, which the offender struck twice before spinning out into a residence on East Pine Street and making contact with a parked vehicle. Three occupants escaped and ran into nearby woods. The fourth occupant, the driver, was apprehended and placed under arrest. During a conducted search, officer located green leafy substance in the floorboards of the vehicle, a digital scale, a fanny pack containing a 9MM magazine with 9 MM bullets located inside, an additional scale, bags, a mason jar containing green leafy substance, a cell phone, and Hennessy bottle.

Officer responded to an address on North Racetrack Street in reference to disorderly conduct.

Officer responded to an address on West MLK. Boulevard in reference to a suspicious person. While on scene, officer was advised of a male subject that had been looking into peoples windows and walking late at night. It was further reported that the offender has been involved in several burglaries in town, one in which he lost a black and red in color tennis shoe that his mother has attempted to retrieve from the involved victim while still denying her son’s involvement in the crime.

July 8

Officer responded to an address on South Main Street in reference to a shoplifter.

Officer responded to a South Main Street address in reference to an unknown male subject tampering with a box located on a business property.

Complainant reported a damaged vehicle.

An additional complainant reported vehicle damage.

June 9

Officer responded to an address on Ben Street in reference to an offender putting a candy bar in the complainant’s gas tank. Eggshells and raw eggs were also observed along with chocolate around the gas tank with the lid being removed and a deflated tire.

Officer made an arrest after observing a driver operate a vehicle while using a handheld device. During the stop, the driver advised of her license being suspended.

Officer made a traffic stop which led to an arrest.

Officer made an additional traffic stop and arrest.

Officer transported a wanted person from Laurens County to the Emanuel County Jail.

Officers responded to an address on Northwest Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a bullet came through the victim’s house wall, striking several objects before becoming lodged into a wall stud. Officers traced footprints down the dirt road and located 13 9MM shell casings.

July 10

Officer made a traffic stop and an arrest.

Officer responded to an address on East MLK Boulevard in reference to a vehicle being shot. Four shell casings were collected from a nearby wood line of the victim’s residence.

Complainant reported harassing communications.

Complainant reported theft by taking.

Victim reported criminal trespass of private property.

Officer responded to a Calhoun Street address in reference to a dispute.

Officer responded to an address on Marion Street in reference to a dispute.

June 11

Complainant reported two dogs at large.

Officers were dispatched to a Lewis Street address in reference to a possible burglar. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the resident of the home, who advised of being awoken by the sounds of movement from inside his home. He further advised of observing a small, stature person coming out from under the pillows of a bed, exiting the home, and leaving in a vehicle. The residence was cleared by officers and homeowner, and no forced signs of entry were seen.
