The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro traveled 12 miles to the Herrington Homestead in Emanuel County to provide lunch for staff and residents on Friday, June 21.
Kiwanian Pepper Fields arranged a visit from Swainsboro Fire Department’s firemen. They joined the lunch, brought their ladder truck, and taught the staff and residents about becoming a firefighter.
The group enjoyed pizza, drinks, ice cream, and cookies.
The Kiwanis Club’s mission is focused around helping children in the community. The trip was a wonderful day spent supporting the Herrington Homestead for their dedication to the same mission: helping kids.
The club would like to recognize all of the Kiwanians as well as the firefighters who helped.
