William Harris Roberts Sr., 87

Funeral services for William Harris Roberts Sr., 87, were held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Dellwood Community. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday afternoon, May 10, 2019.

Mr. William Harris Roberts Sr. was born August 1, 1931 in Carrabelle, Florida, son of the late Mack and Janie Rickards Roberts. He was a graduate of Swainsboro High School’s Class of 1948. Roberts was a United States Air Force veteran and was the owner and operator of Swainsboro Saw Works for more than 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist. In addition to his parents, Roberts was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Brinson.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara Ann Roberts; two sons, Harris (Madeline) Roberts and Mike (Paula) Roberts; one daughter, Catherine (Joey) Crapps; one sister, Frances Stewart; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bradley Roberts, Blake Roberts, Michael Roberts, Christopher Pinard, Jed Crapps, and Joey Crapps III.

Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
