Funeral services for Ada Sherrod McNeely, 82, were held Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jim Harrell officiating. Interment followed in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum. She passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Westwood Nursing Home in Statesboro.
Mrs. Ada Sherrod McNeely was born November 19, 1936 in Midville to the late William B. and Caroline Parrish Sherrod. She was previously employed with Larkin Industries and retired from Ithaca Industries in Swainsboro. McNeely was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and was active in the UMW and pumpkin patch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Charles “Pete” McNeely; daughter, Susan McNeely; four sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include: three daughters, Phyllis McNeely Kline of Claxton, Judy McNeely (Gary) McCorkle of Statesboro, and Lisa McNeely (Randall) Peebles of Swainsboro; one son, Jimmy (Liz) McNeely of Augusta; nine grandchildren, Christopher Kline, Justin Kline, Jennifer McCorkle (Garrett) Sowell, Matthew McCorkle, Zac McNeely, April (Ryan) Kroger, Brooke (Counts) Camilla, Heidi Stevens, and Maresa (Dorsey) Lovett; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family
Honorary escorts will be Zac McNeely, Ryan Kroger, Counts Camilla, Matthew McCorkle, Garrett Sowell, and Ricky Stevens.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
