Kiwanis Club hosts Division 17 Rally

The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club traveled to Statesboro on Friday night, April 12, to host the Division 17 Governor’s Rally for the Georgia District.

The local club was responsible for set-up, registration, decorations, and clean-up. The food for the event was provided by Joe and Cindy Ware of Ware’s Bar-B-Q.

During the rally, Governor Brilling presented Travis Garrett with the Governor’s Outstanding Leadership Award.

Division 17 Lt. Governor Tim Goodman received several other awards to present to Swainsboro Kiwanians Jim Clapham and Edwin Canady. He made those presentations during the club’s meeting later that week.

On Tuesda night, April 16, Goodman presented the Governor’s Outstanding Leadership Award to Past President Jim Clapham. Goodman also presented the 2017-2018 Distinguished Club Award and club banner patches for interclubs, for being a Distinguished Club, and for district donations.

Additionally, Goodman presented a Distinguished President pin to Clapham and a Distinguished Secretary pin to Canady.
