Former Swainsboro tailback shines in UGA’s spring game

UGA’s spring game this past Saturday, April 20, included a surprise for many Swainsboro Tiger fans watching as former SHS tailback KJ McCoy not only made the game day roster but also got plenty of action.

McCoy carried the ball five times for 28 yards and caught two passes out of the backfield for 18 yards. The redshirt sophomore walk-on will look to provide depth at the running back position and continue to work his way into a reserve role, whether it be at RB or on special teams.

McCoy graduated from SHS in 2017 and was a versatile back as a senior for his 2016 Tiger football team.
