Swainsboro Fire Department recently accepted the delivery of a new fire engine.
The 2018 E-One pumper replaced a 30-year-old apparatus, which is now in reserve.
The new Engine 4 rides on a Freightliner M2 chassis and is powered by a 350-horsepower Cummins L9 diesel engine matched to an Allison EVS 3000 automatic transmission. The fire pump is a Hale QMAX rated at 1,500 gallons per minute. The aluminum body has 7 roll-up compartment doors and carries 1,000 gallons of water. The truck is equipped with LED warning lights and features 6” red and yellow reflective chevrons to the rear of the body for additional safety
The truck was purchased from Fire Line, Inc., the E-One dealer in Georgia.
