Marilyn Ann “Susie” Prosser Reeves, 64

Funeral services for Marilyn Ann “Susie” Prosser Reeves, 64, will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1 p.m. at New Birth Christian Ministries of Tennille. Interment will follow at Jordan Station AME Church Cemetery, followed by repast at New Birth Christian Ministries Fellowship Hall. She passed away March 7, 2019 after succumbing to complications with her battle with cancer.

Mrs. Marilyn Ann “Susie” Prosser Reeves was born daughter to the late Doretha Prosser. She gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age as a member of Jordan Station AME Church. Reeves was a 1972 graduate of Washington County High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University of Virginia. She had recently retired from a 40-year career in nursing. The majority of her career was spent in service to military soldiers as a civil service employee with the Department of Defense. Reeves’ most recent position was with the U.S. Army as a nurse case manager for Wounded Warriors in transition at Fort Benning.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Reeves of Sandersville; daughters, Shannon (Ronald Flythe) Reeves of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Tiffany (Kristopher Hunter) Reeves of Jacksonville, Florida; stepson, Ken Curry of Herndon, Virginia; sister, Sharon (Michael) Boston of Swainsboro; brother, Tony Prosser of Detroit, Michigan; grandchildren, Tyson Reeves, Kameron Hunter, and Ian Flythe; mother-in-law, Christine Reeves of Sandersville; sister-in-law, Cathy Reeves Coles of Atlanta; brothers-in-laws, Gary Reeves of Monterey, California, and Chester Reeves of Sandersville; nieces, Shayna Boston and Miya Boston, both of Swainsboro; nephews, Delrico Reeves of Milledgeville, Tony Prosser Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, and William Reeves of Eureka, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Reno-Tapley Mortuary of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
