Keith Bridges, 82

   Funeral services for Keith Bridges, 82, of Perry were held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Ideal United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the Lockwood Cemetery in Ideal. He died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Perry Hospital.

Mr. Keith Bridges was born in Powdersville, South Carolina on July 12, 1936 to the late Raymond Barton Bridges and Louree Barr Bridges. He graduated from Welcome High School in Greenville, South Carolina, and earned his bachelor’s from Clemson University in 1959. Over the course of his career, he served in the Army Reserve, worked for Savings and Loans for more than 30 years, and later retired from a position in financial planning. Bridges was a member of Ideal United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Bridges was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Moore.

Survivors include his loving wife, Paula Joiner Bridges of Perry; three children, Gregory Keith (Kim) Bridges of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jeffrey Kemp (Edna) Bridges of Cumming, and Marvin Kerry (Heather) Bridges of Evans; four siblings, Betty Tanner of Portsmouth, Virginia, William “Bill” Bridges of Greeneville, South Carolina, Eleanor Thompson of Hartwell, and Rebecca Burnett of Powdersville, South Carolina; three grandchildren, LCpl. Kyle David Bridges of the USMC, Caroline Alyssa Bridges, and Lily Anne Bridges; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Bridges may be made to Ideal United Methodist Church, 202 Hoke Smith Ave., Ideal, GA, 31041.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma was in charge of arrangements.
