On February 10, Swainsboro High School’s basketball cheerleaders traveled to Atlanta to State Farm Arena to participate in a halftime show known as the Hawks Extravaganza. The squad was one of 25 cheer and dance groups who shared the floor.

“Being able to meet cheerleaders from other schools and perform with them was a great experience. I am looking forward to next year!” said sophomore Dameria Rountree.

The cheerleaders learned a choreographed routine and performed in front of thousands of people.

Varsity girls basketball coach Alex Walden and her Lady Tigers went to support the cheerleaders. In her eighth year as head coach of the cheer squad, Monica Y. Pace was appreciative of the opportunity and called it a “great bonding experience for all involved.”
