Funeral services for Isa Mae Washington-Bivins, 56, were held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2 p.m. at St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James E. Love officiating. Interment followed at Swainsboro City Cemetery. She passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 following a short illness.
Mrs. Isa Mae Washington-Bivins was born January 10, 1953 in Swainsboro to Henry and Celia Mae Washington Byrd. She was united in holy matrimony to John Bivins in Augusta. She was a blessed mother of two sons and two daughters. She attended Emanuel County schools and received Christ at an early age. Bivins was employed with Twin City Manufacturing for several years before later retiring as a homemaker. Some of her greatest joys included cooking, dancing, and spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart and love for everybody. Bivins was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, C.J. Washington and Henry Washington, and one daughter, Sherry Bivins Johnson.
Survivors include her mother; devoted friend, Dwight Turner Jr. of Swainsboro; one daughter, Shonda Latasha Turner of Swainsboro; two sons, Johnny Bivins of Swainsboro and Carlton Bivins of Wadley; four sisters, Eva Mae Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, Daisy (Ronald) Murphy of Swainsboro, Laura Mae Williams of Adel, and Clara Mae Dukins of Gainesville; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Colon Turner, Earl Turner, Wendell Turner, Lee Kirkland, JaMichael Murphy, and Donald Lewis.
Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
