Woman breaks into Oak Park residence

On Tuesday, January 8, Oak Park Police Department was notified of an emergency call from an Emanuel County residence regarding a woman breaking into a home with a knife.

According to Oak Park Police Department’s Lieutenant Ken Kelly, the male and female victims were housesitting a residence on Long Bay Drive when the family relative arrived on scene with a knife. It was reported that the offender, identified as Donna Matthews, was screaming outside the household structure before breaking down the back door of the residence and entering with a knife.

Though the investigation still continues, Matthews is currently charged with four counts, including aggravated assault, home invasion, criminal trespass, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

Responding to the scene with Oak Park Police Officer were deputies of Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office.
