   Funeral services for Gail W. Sconyers, 79, of Savannah, formerly of Swainsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Reverend Brad McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, January 17, from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery. She died Monday, January 14, 2019 at Rivers Edge Retirement Community.

Mrs. Gail W. Sconyers was born October 18, 1939 in Swainsboro to the late Toby M. Sr. and Nannie Dell Shepard Wilson. She was a Swainsboro High School graduate. Sconyers was employed by Dolores & Woodys Department Store, later retired from Ashley’s Department Store, and was a member of Emanuel Christian Ministries. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, decorating, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Sconyers was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sconyers, and brother Toby “Buddy” Wilson Jr.

Survivors include three daughters, Angie (Sandra Seoane) of Savannah, Lisa (Glenn) Moore of Boerne, Texas, and Pam (Terry) Lewis of Perry; one son, Johnny (Carla) Smith of Twin City; sister, Wanda Smith of Scott; brother, Joe (Gail) Wilson of Kite; five grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Kelly (Jeremy) Ricks, Craig Smith, Justin Moore, and Hunter Moore; three great-grandchildren, Alba Ricks, Nash Ricks, and Sailor Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
