SHS seniors apply for college

Swainsboro High School (SHS) seniors participated in Georgia Apply to College (GAC) Day Tuesday, November 27.

This initiative, sponsored by the Georgia Student Finance Commission, was created to give seniors the opportunity to apply for college with a focus on providing assistance to first-generation college-bound students as they navigate the application process as well as to increase the number of students accessing post-secondary education.

Monica Pace, counselor, coordinated this effort at SHS and stated, “This gives many of our students who would not have considered college otherwise the opportunity to apply to college with the assistance of teachers, administrators, and recruiters. We were fortunate to have representatives from East Georgia State College, Southeastern Technical College, and Paine College on hand.”
