SHS FBLA, Beta Club to sponsor 5K benefit run for Clay family

At 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, Swainsboro High School (SHS) will host a 5K for Clay benefit run fundraiser for Katy Clay, teacher at SHS. Clay gave birth to triplets at 27 weeks, in which two of the three did not survive. In effort to raise proceeds to help with expenses of Clay and her family, the benefit run idea was originated.

The registration deadline for this event was December 12 at the rate of $15, which included a T-shirt. Registration fees received after this date will be $20 and will not guarantee a T-shirt.

Race day registration and check-in for the 5K will begin at 4 p.m. in front of the new gym at Swainsboro High School. Donations are greatly appreciated. Checks may be payable to SHS Sunshine Fund. For more information, contact Cherie Hooks, JoBeth Johnson, Mary Mason, or Cindy Riner at 478-237-2267.
