The holidays can be an unsettling time for hospital patients and employees, both of whom may not get to see their families during Christmas, so the Glad Garden Club has attempted to add a little holiday cheer to Emanuel Medical Center by decorating the facilities.
New decorations have been added to the club’s collection, and under the watchful eye of Jeanette Griffin, members have decked the halls.
The entrance to the hospital is now decorated with seasonal greenery and bright red bows.
Upon entering the medical center, visitors are greeted with boughs on the benches, lighted topiary trees and garland, and a traditionally decorated Christmas tree in the main lobby with white lights, a stunning variety of ornaments, and even special gifts underneath the tree. The main lobby also entertains other seasonal decorations, including a large Christmas tree with multicolored lights.
Feathers and a nativity scene adorn the cafeteria, rustic trees are located at the main elevators, and angels, big red bows, and seasonal flower arrangements round out the festive décor throughout the hospital.
The Glad Garden Club is a member of the Deep South Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc. and the Oleander District of the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc.
