Peyton Frye’s program for the day was about a new clinic addition for East Georgia Healthcare Center (EGHC), the Evans Health and Wellness Center which is located in the former Pre-K office at Claxton Elementary School. The school district will continue to employ a school nurse who serves as a triage for the Center. EGHC employs a physician assistant, office coordinator and medical assistant. The school-based health center, designed to meet the healthcare needs of uninsured and underinsured students and their families, is unique to South Georgia.
