Betty Love Poole, 80

Funeral services for Betty Love Poole, 80, were held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Soperton Trinity Assembly of God with Reverend Albert White and Reverend Morris Brantley officiating. Interment followed at Hilton Chapel Cemetery, where she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Lanier Poole. She passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 27, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Betty Love Poole was born in Emanuel County, being one of nine children to the late George T. and Maggie Nora Edenfield Love. Her family moved to Treutlen County when she was a teenager, where she resided until she married Mr. Lester Lanier “Uncle Buddy” Poole in 1957. The newlyweds made their home in Savannah until returning to Treutlen County in 1976. After the death of her husband in 2004, Poole later moved to Vidalia in 2013 to live with her daughter. She attended Trinity Baptist Church in Meeks, was a member at Hilton Chapel Advent Christian Church, and most recently attended Blockers Chapel of Vidalia. Poole enjoyed yardwork, tending to her flowers, and caring for animals. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Hilliard Love, Archie Love, and Charles Love; one sister, Nancy Helen Love; son, Ricky Ray Poole Sr.; grandson, Joseph Lanier Poole; son-in-law, Thomas Ricky Palmer; and one sister-in-law, Kathleen Love.
Survivors include her children, Mary Elizabeth Palmer and Perry Lanier Poole, both of Vidalia; four brothers, George Leon Love, Edward M. (Martha Jo) Love, and Thomas Dwight (Angie) Love, all of Treutlen County, and Andrew Roy (Brenda) Love of Godley, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Evie Dell Wilkes of Toombs County and Mary Love of Soperton; grandchildren, Mark Wilkinson, Mindy (Eric) Gillis, Penny Poole, Nicky (Joey) Cook, Ricky Ray Poole Jr., Andrew Cody Poole, Loretta Poole, and Paula Poole; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were nephews Dale Boyette, Andy Love, Randy Love, Phillip Love, Devin Love, and Dwayne Love. Honorary pallbearers were George Love, Sid Love, Roger Douglas, Larry Douglas, Darren Boyette, Brian Boyette, and James Rountree.
Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
