Twin City to host holiday tree lighting, Christmas parade this week

This year, on the Welcome Center lawn in downtown Twin City, a beautiful tree will be lit for the holiday season. The lights on the tree represent memories of loved ones who are remembered at this time of year. The official lighting ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 29, at 6 p.m. Following the lighting, visitors are encouraged to stick around an enjoy music, singing, hot cocoa and goodies, and a visit from Santa.
In remembrance of or in honor of someone. memorial lights and twinkling stars are available for purchase of $1. These will be displayed on the city Christmas tree. To make a purchase, mail a $1 for each name to HTCGA/Christmas Memorial Tree Lighting, P.O. Box 980, Twin City, GA, 30471. Please indicate if purchased light should be labeled as “in memory” or “in honor” of your loved one (s). Purchases may also be made at the Twin City City Hall utility payments window. Names may also be submitted at the Welcome Center. Checks should be made payable to HTCGA/Christmas Memorial Tree Lighting Fund. All names must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, November 28.
All proceeds from memorial lights go to assist with decorating downtown Twin City during the Christmas holidays.

The folioing Saturday, December 1, Twin City Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Christmas parade beginning at 11 a.m. All proceeds collected from this event will go towards necessities needed to put on the parade, as well as assisting with the purchase of equipment for Twin City Fire Department. Present, following the parade, will be bouncy houses and pictures with Santa, all free of charge. Vendors will also be present before and after the parade selling food and other items.
