Tanner hired as county’s new ag agent

Meet Savannah Tanner, new agriculture agent for Emanuel County.

Prior to the writing of this article, she was introduced as such at an Emanuel County Board of Commissioners meeting on October 15.

Tanner, 24, is a native of Johnson County. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in diversified agriculture from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in animal science concentrated in ruminant nutrition.

Tanner began her extension career in Evans County as an agriculture and natural resources agent in 2016 before transferring to Emanuel County on November 1, 2018. Being closer to home, Tanner is proud to say she enjoys working with the people of Emanuel County.
