The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro participated in Swainsboro’s fall festival Tuesday, October 16.

With OctoberFest Chair Deana Patrick supervising, there were 23 Kiwanians, five Circle K members, and three guests who prepared and served the cotton candy, popcorn, and fresh apples to hundreds of attendees.

The OctoberFest event was originally planned and organized by Kiwanians Chip and Jane Durden in October 2000.

In October 2012, OctoberFest merged with Swainsboro’s fall festival.

This year, the Kiwanis Club made more than 1,200 bags of cotton candy, 1,000 bags of popcorn, and purchased four bushels of apples to distribute to the children of Emanuel County.
