Swainsboro football season wrap up

Inspirational speaker Hashim Garrett spoke to the student body of Swainsboro High School (SHS) on Monday, November 26. Garrett is a former gang member who was shot and paralyzed from the waist down at age 15. SHS tips off basketball season

The Swainsboro High School (SHS) Tigers are ready to jump start a new basketball season and played their first games, sweeping Dublin this past Saturday night.

The Lady Tigers won easily 71-35 and the boys took care of business as well, winning 75-63. Both teams return terrific talent and experience and the Tigers’ Den should be rocking all winter long as these teams have championship goals.

10U all-stars beat Dublin-Laurens in district tournament

During November 15 through November 17, Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department’s 10U boys’ all-star football team traveled to Sweetwater Park in Thomson to compete in the 2018 Georgia Recreation and Park Association 10U Football Class B District 1 Tournament, hosted by Thomson-McDuffie County Recreation Department.

Beginning the tournament, Swainsboro-Emanuel defeated Dublin-Laurens 26-0 on Thursday but then fell short to Lyons 12-0.

8U all-stars, Effingham County battle in championship

The 8U all-stars from Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department traveled to Sweetwater Park in Thomson on November 17 to participate in the 2018 Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s 8U Football Class B District 1 Tournament.

Swainsboro-Emanuel drew a bye in the first round. In their first game, they defeated Dublin-Laurens 12-6 in overtime. The win set up a championship game between Swainsboro-Emanuel and Effingham County, and ultimately Effingham took Read More


Fall Line Chapter receives charter
