Sherrod running for county commission

My name is Jim Sherrod, and I am running for Emanuel County commissioner in District 4. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my family.
I am 49 years old and have lived in Emanuel County my entire life. I am a 1986 Swainsboro High School graduate. I have been employed with Pineland Telephone Company for over 30 years. During this time, I have had the honor of serving the citizens of Emanuel County.
Other than the love for my Lord and Savior, my family is the one thing that is most precious to me. My wife of 25 years, Bobbie Brinson Sherrod, also a lifelong resident of Emanuel County, is a teacher at Twin City Elementary School. We have six children (Zach and his wife, Heather; Shea; Chase; Brittany; Lauren; and Cayden) and five grandchildren (Maddox, Tate, Maddie Grace, Aceton, and Addie). My parents are Helen Sherrod and the late Arthur Sherrod of Midville. I have two brothers, Darrel and Daniel.
Serving others has always been a part of my life. In addition to working at Pineland Telephone Company, I also own and operate Quality Deer Processing, which was started by my father, mother, and me in 2004. Through these businesses, I have had the opportunity to talk to my customers and other community members to gain a true understanding of the needs and wants of the citizens of Emanuel County. I am now ready and willing to work diligently for my community.
Emanuel County is home. Emanuel County is where I will remain. I have no desire to be anywhere else but here in the best county in the state, and I figured as long as I was staying here, I might as well give back to the place that has afforded me a good life.
Throughout the years, I have been involved in various community activities as well as serving as member at-large on the Emanuel County Recreation Board. I am also president of the Emanuel County Athletic Booster Club, and I served on the Swainsboro Dixie Youth Board of Directors as director, vice president, and president. I understand the importance of having a representative who will be approachable and available.
My family, my home, and my business are in this county. I am devoted to Emanuel County and its citizens. If you have any questions or if you ever need me, please do not hesitate to contact me at 478-299-2273.
