Funeral services for Mary Frances McCoy Branch, 89, were held Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Emanuel County Institute’s auditorium in Twin City with Bishop K.E. McNeal officiating. Interment followed at Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Garfield.She died Thursday, October 18, 2018.
Mrs. Mary Frances McCoy Branch was born December 9, 1928, in Woodcliff to Leola Bryd-McCoy and James Edward McCoy. She later moved to Emanuel County and joined the Union Chapel Baptist Church. McCoy served faithfully as an usher, until her health failed. On August 14, 1948, she was joined in holy matrimony to Lester Branch Sr. Along with her parents, Branch was preceded in death by children, Mary Alice Branch, Tony Branch, Horace Branch, and James McCoy; stepson, Lee J. Branch Jones; and stepdaughter, Sylve Branch Jones.
Survivors include three sons, Robbie McCoy and Jimmy Branch, both of Twin City, and Lester Branch of Millen; four daughters, Levern Lady, Debra B. Williams, and Virginia McAllister, all of Twin City, and Mary D. Branch of Perry; two grandsons raised as her own, Kekesha Brown of McDonough and Ted D. Branch of Riverdale; brothers, George McCoy of Augusta and Fred Douglas McCoy of Garfield; two sisters, Louise Clarke of Augusta and Lourine Carlyle of Twin City; 27 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers were Vinson Andrews, Harry Clark, Daniel Branch, Randall Newark, Willie Lee Branch, and Isaac Bady. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
