Kathleen Youmans Oglesby, 80

Funeral services for Kathleen Youmans Oglesby, 80, of Swainsboro were held Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home. Interment followed Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Pruitt Health of Swainsboor following an extended illness.
Mrs. Kathleen Youmans Oglesby was born November 7, 1937, in Stillmore to the late James Roberson and Vondell Collins Roberson. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Emanuel County. Oglesby enjoyed going to the Senior Center, working with flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended United Primitive Baptist church. In addition to her parents, Oglesby was preceded in death by her husbands, Ira D. “Pud” Youmans Sr. and Allen Oglesby; and son, Ricky Youmans.
Survivors include her sons, Donnie (Linda) Youmans of Evans and Ronnie (Gilda) Youmans of Soperton; brother, Larry Roberson of Lizella; sisters, Mary Lynn Oglesby of Milledgeville, Nell Jeffers of Gray, and Janice (Wayne) Brooks of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Amanda (Bear) Grant, Matthew Youmans, Necole (Les) Salter, Jessi (Gregory) Mason, Haden Youmans, and Ashley (Matt) Tracy; great-grandchildren, Peyton Grant, Cooper Grant, Avery Grant, Harper Grant, Isla Salter, Eason Salter, and Mia Mason; and a host of several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were Matthew Youmans, Haden Youmans, Bear Grant, Les Salter, Gregory Mason, and Johnny Lavender.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
