James “Harmon” Norris Sr., 75

Funeral services for James “Harmon” Norris Sr., 75, of Swainsboro were held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Minton Chapel Advent Christian Church in Kite with Rev. Calvin Leavitt officiating. Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. He passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018.

Mr. James “Harmon” Norris Sr. was born December 14, 1942 to the late William Estille and Maybelle Brantley Norris in Kite, Johnson County. He was a graduate of Kite High School. Before he retired, he was a district manager for Independent Life Insurance Company for many years. Norris was also a member and deacon of Minton Chapel Advent Christian Church in Kite. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was an avid auction and farm sale attendee.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Annelle Page Norris of Swainsboro; one daughter, Karmon Norris (Michael) Cain of Loganville; one son, James H. (Tori) Norris Jr. of Swainsboro; one sister, Marvye Norris (Albert) Woods of Macon; one brother, William “Pete” (Judy) Norris of Gray; sister-in-law, Gayle Elkes of Ocala, Florida; brother-in-law, Burley (Connie) Page Jr. of Kite; four grandchildren, Emily Cain, Keith Cain, Jessi Norris, and Jami Norris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers were his nephews, Brad Stevens, Rob Johnson, Tommy Veal, Edmond Strickland, Rusty Branson, Stuart Strickland, Bryan Cooper, Chad Burkhalter, and Brandon Page. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Minton Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
