Franklin Memorial hosts library card extravaganza

   Franklin Memorial Library hosted its first library card extravaganza on September 15. The purpose of the event was to encourage area residents to sign up for a library card so they can take advantage of the public library’s many resources.
   Upon entering the library, patrons first encountered a tempting selection of treats—namely popcorn, cotton candy, chocolate muffins, and lemonade.
   Those who were able to tear themselves away from the food ventured inside to enjoy a carnival-like atmosphere filled with games, contests, and information stands. Anyone looking to try out their skills went for the cornhole toss, a jewelry making station, and a slime station.
