Bobcat athletic teams start fall seasons

   East Georgia State College’s Bobcat baseball and softball teams both took to the field this past weekend. Bobcat baseball sent eight players to Macon to play in the GCAA All-Star Baseball Tournament, which included more than 20 scouts from Division I to the major leagues in attendance to watch players from Georgia compete.

   “Congratulations to Coach Dusty Hess and his rising stars on their participation in this event,” said athletic director Chuck Wimberly.

   The Lady Bobcats softball team traveled to Augusta Saturday for a scrimmage against the Jaguars, ending the game 0–0 with a pitcher’s duel before the rains came in the seventh inning.
