American Legion Post 103 offers cemetery services

Recently, Swainsboro’s American Legion Post 103 found a new way to serve its community—cleaning local cemeteries.
Initiated by Hubert Hendrix, members started their project on a cemetery located on McMillian Drive, then went to Jones Cemetery on Lambs Bridge Road. After Post 103 cleaned the two cemeteries, they erected signs in those cemeteries to promote the new service.
It is the group’s goal to clean one cemetery per month. The members are asking for recommendations of unkept cemeteries within Emanuel County in need of tidying.

To make recommendations or to obtain more information, contact H. Glenn Grimes Sr. at 478-237-5024 or 478-494-0616.
