   Funeral services for Wanda Stapleton, 69, of Kite will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Rehoboth Missionary Baptist Church with Reverends Lamar Kersey and Arthur Conley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness.
   Mrs. Wanda Stapleton was born July 25, 1949 in Swainsboro to the late Randolph Shepard and Eddie Mae Price Shepard. She was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and was a homemaker. Stapleton loved cooking, sewing, and helping other people, but her greatest passion was her family. She was of the Baptist faith, and she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Stapleton; sister, Clementine Shepard; and brothers, Eddie Randall Shepard and Danny Shepard.
   Survivors include her sons, Shannon (Kim) Stapleton of Kite, Sherman (Rhonda) Stapleton of Kite, Stoney (Heather) Stapleton of Moore’s Chapel Community, and Steven (Meagan) Stapleton of Kite; daughters, Marie Stapleton of Wrightsville and Sue (Roger) Webb of Wrightsville; 18 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
   Pallbearers will be Sammy Henry, Jessie Henry, Cody Stapleton, Kelly Stapleton, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Lumpkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Norris, Gary Lindsey, and Jimmy Claxton.
   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of arrangements.
