On Tuesday, September 18, Patrick Winter, vice president for admissions at the University of Georgia (UGA), made a visit to Swainsboro High School (SHS) and spoke to the junior and senior classes.
During his presentation, Winter addressed students regarding admissions, scholarships, study abroad programs, campus life, student work programs, and many other opportunities on campus at UGA. He also discussed benefits of being involved in high school since colleges not only consider students’ grades but  other activities students are involved in throughout their high school careers as well.

Josie Drake said, “My parents and I were able to be informed of opportunities I didn’t realize were available at UGA until this meeting.  We are very grateful for Mr. Winter’s insight.”

Another student, Arham Shah commented, “Mr. Winter provided me with ideas for my upcoming senior year and applying for college. He helped me better understand the application process and what I need to do to start preparing for college.”
