SEARCH announces Rally for Recovery event

   On Saturday, October 13, Swainsboro/Emanuel Area Recovery Community Help (SEARCH) will host a Rally for Recovery event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Swainsboro-Emanuel Recreation Department, located at 632 McLeod Bridge Rd. Lunch will be provided as participants enjoy fun and fellowship, along with door prizes, testimonials, visit on-site vendors. Input from attendees will be welcome as well.

   Each September, the National Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMSHA) sponsors recovery month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders, and celebrate individuals living in recovery. This year’s theme is “Join the voices for Recovery: Invest in health, home, purpose, and community.

   This public event is a recovery-centered forum for those with substance abuse and mental health disorders and family members. Donations for door prizes may be mailed to Emanuel County Probate Court, PO Box 70, Swainsboro, GA, 30401, or can be picked up by representative of this group.

   For vendor registration forms or questions regarding registration and set-up, call Dawn Scarboro at 478-268-9156 or Kathy Durden at 478-237-2484. Registrations forms are to be submitted by September 17 to ensure reserved table.
