One left in critical condition after bypass collision

   On Monday, September 10, Emanuel County emergency personnels were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 56 and US 1 Bypass in reference to a 2-vehicle motor vehicle accident (MVA). After further investigation of the accident, it was determined that the driver of a blue in color DOT tractor trailer ran the red light. The tractor trailer collided and made impact on the passenger side of a black car, occupied by a single passenger. The driver of the car was transported from the scene of the accident by EMS, and Air Evac transferred the patient to a nearby medical setting. Currently, the driver of the black in color car is said to be in critical condition and is unresponsive at this time.

   Responders included Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, Emanuel  County EMS, Swainsboro Fire Department, and Georgia State Patrol. Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstructive Team is investigating the wreck.
