On Friday August 31, Emanuel County EMS, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Norristown and Adrian Fire Department First Responders were dispatched to Polly Circle for a person entrapment with their hand caught in a farm machine. The first arriving person required Swainsboro Fire Rescue 1 to the scene.

EMS Paramedics began to treat the male subject and requested Air-Evac for a scene landing. Due to the severe entrapment, Swainsboro Police were directed to escort mechanics from Blanchard Equipment to the scene.

While medics provided constant monitoring of vital signs and intravenous fluids and pain medications due to the crush injuries. Rescue personnel used various hand tools and cutting torches to begin extrication. After approximately 50 minutes, the victim was freed from the machinery and transported to the helicopter, where he was then flown to Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
