Lenez Neal McLendon, 88

   Funeral services for Lenez Neal McLendon, 88, of Twin City were held Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Baptist Rest Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters officiating andElder Mike Gray assisting. Interment followed in Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Friday, September 7, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

   Mrs. Lenez Neal McLendon was born September 24, 1929, in Emanuel County  to the late Ben H. Neal Sr. and Lena Brantley Neal. She was retired and a homemaker. McLendon was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church of Statesboro and a member of the Garfield Ladies Auxiliary Club. She  loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. McLendon also loved flowers and going to Thursday Night Ladies Club. In addition to her  parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Murrell F. Johnson Sr. and Dr. Alvin McLendon; daughter, Cathy (Paul) Johnson; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Lane of Adrian, Jeanne (Buddy) Sanders of Tennille, and Lynne (Steve) Hodges of Millen; one son, Murrell F. (Johnny) Johnson Jr.  of Millen; two step-daughters, Opal Horvat of New Jersey and Martha Ann (Jim) White of Florida; step-son, Dr. Phillip (Lisa) McLendon of Evans; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

   Pallbearers were Melvin Mathis, Neal Mathis, Hank Mullis, Jimmy Neal, Trojan Harrison, and Tim Kea.

   Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
