On Wednesday August 29, Sgt. Freeman and Officer Reer took a few minutes out of their day to meet with the juniors and seniors of Mrs. Brett’s College and Career Readiness Math and Algebra II classes.

Sgt Freeman’s main objective was to open a line of communication with students and give them a better understanding the U.S. Armed Services. Students were engaged in real life calculations, comparing local work and college scenarios to benefits from military service. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions to clarify many common misconceptions of planning to join any branch of the service following high school.

Sgt. Freeman and Officer Reer encouraged all students to begin planning for their future and to explore all options.  Students were very excited to learn about all the many opportunities to travel, gain work experience and skills, and earn a debt-free education, all while being paid a salary doing a job of their choice.
