Cecil Tanner, 63

Funeral services for Cecil Tanner, 63, of Wrightsville were held Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Pastors James Tanner and Jamey Toler officiating. Interment followed in Oaky Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Friday, September 21, 2018, at Wrightsville Manor following an extended illness.
Mr. Tanner was born April 9, 1955, in Bartow to the late Bennie Ivey Tanner and Mary Lizzie Garner Tanner. He lived most of his life in Bartow before moving to Kite. Tanner was a logger for many years. He enjoyed doing carpenter work and drawing, and was of the Baptist faith. Tanner was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Fanning; and brothers, J.W. Tanner, Billy Tanner, Roy Tanner, Mickey Tanner, Donald Tanner, and Fred Tanner.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty (Ovid) Jackson of Wrightsville, Dorothy Claxton of Fairbanks, Alaska, Barbara Edwards of Wrightsville, and Judy White, and Lynn (Sonny) Harrell, both of Canoochee; and a host of several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were his nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice of Swainsboro.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
