Bulldogs lose to Vidalia

ECI traveled to Vidalia to play their second quality AA team this year, losing to the Indians 28-14.
The Bulldogs won the statistical battle, out rushing the Indians 299-220 yards and total yards 338 to 302. ECI also ran 30 more plays than Vidalia but could not convert the yards and time of possession into enough points to win the game.
After a muffed kickoff catch by a Vidalia lineman, the Bulldogs took the first possession of the game at the Vidalia 38-yard line.
ECI took an early lead 10 plays later after a Rejar Rock 5-yard run to put the Bulldogs up 7-0.
Big plays were a big nemesis of the Bulldog defense against Dublin a couple weeks ago and it raised its ugly head early against the Indians.
The lead didn’t last long. Nyshun Bell took the jet sweep around the corner for a 65-yard touchdown run on Vidalia’s first play from scrimmage for a 7-7 tie.
The Indians tacked on 14 more points in the second quarter, sometimes getting big chunks of yardage against the Bulldog defense.
ECI ran 19 plays in the second quarter but were never able to get into the red zone against the Vidalia defense.
