The Rotary Club of Swainsboro held its August 13, 2018 meeting at Catered Creations in Swainsboro. Cason DeVane welcomed everyone to the meeting. Richard McNeely provided the invocation and Gail Ware led the pledge, and Rotary Four-Way Test. DeVane reminded everyone about the Rotary District Governor’s upcoming visit to Swainsboro on August 27 and the Wounded Warrior Banquet on September 27. For more information about the Wounded Warrior Banquet, contact Terry Reynolds.
Rotarian Guy Singletary, Emanuel County Administrator, was in charge of the program and introduced Daryl Gray, Chief Appraiser from the Emanuel County Tax Assessor’s Office. Daryl Gray has been an Appraiser since 2004 and is highly respected in this field throughout the state of Georgia. Tax Appraisers are expertly trained by the Department of Revenue. Gray stressed the importance and investment of that training which benefits the counties. Gray provided handouts on Sales Ratio Divisions and Revenue Statistics along with an Example Sales Ratio Study. He also provided a sample assessment to show detail of the numerous items that must be checked.
