Muriel Bryant, 88

Funeral services for Muriel Bryant, 88, of Statesboro were held Friday, August 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory of Statesboro with Dr. Harry Sherrer officiating. Interment followed in Old Canoochee Cemetery in Twin City. She died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro.
Ms. Muriel Bryant was born in Emanuel County to Ebb and Rosie Roland Bryant. She was a 1948 graduate of Garfield High School. Bryant moved to Statesboro and began working for Dr. Daniels, where she became a licensed practical nurse. She later began working at Georgia Southern College, where she was a nurse in the infirmary and retired following 30 years of service. Bryant was a member of several professional organizations, including GALPN-First District, and state and national NAPNES. She was also a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church, the Agnes Kelly Sunday School class, and a former member of the Bulloch County Senior Citizens Joy Club. Bryant was a resident of Willow Pond Senior Living Community of Statesboro for the past two years and was preceded in death by her parents; her best friend, Dorothy Wiggins; sister, Mildred Lewis; and two brothers, Eugene Bryant and Valgene Bryant.
Survivors include Niece, Cecilia (Randy) Tankersley of Appling, and four nephews, Van (Janice) Lewis of Rincon; Glen (Christine) Lewis of Garfield, Stephen Lewis of Twin City; and John Wyler Lewis of Twin City.
Pallbearers were Van Lewis, Glen Lewis, Stephen Lewis, Randy Tankersley, Lee Blitch, and Greg Many.
