McKinney and Shepard earn Affordable Learning Grant

   East Georgia State College Associate Dean of eLearning Dr. Dee McKinney and Research and Instruction Librarian Katie Shepard were awarded their second Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG) grant this year. The two worked on the grant through the spring and summer semesters and will finish the project at the end of fall semester.

   The duo’s first grant was to adapt one of EGSC’s history classes, HIST 1111: Western Civilization to 1648, to use no-cost materials. This second grant will be used to adapt the second half of the history survey classes, HIST 1112: Western Civilization Since 1648, to also use no-cost materials. The course uses primary source documents and narrated PowerPoint presentations as well as online videos to engage the students.
