Funeral services for Lee Webb, 67, of Adrian were held Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Flowers and Sister Elizabeth Howard officiating. Interment followed at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. He passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Lee Webb was born on February 27, 1951, in Swainsboro to the late Rufus Lee Webb Sr. and Evelyn Elizabeth Tyson Webb. He held a bachelors degree in education and was retired from Jefferson County Board of Education. Webb was an avid Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern football fan, and had a love for God, his church, and family, which reflected through his life. He was a member and trustee of Eastwood Church of God. Webb was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas S. Webb.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Mimbs Webb of Adrian; daughters, Melanie (Jake) Maxwell of Savannah and Geri (Brandon) Cowart Eckardt of Des Moines, Iowa; sons, Chris Webb of Rome, Jason Webb, and Ray (Rhonda) Cowart II of Wyoming; sisters, Margaret (Mike) R. Zematis of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Sandra Webb, and Becky Williams Rutherford of Norristown; seven grandchildren; and a host of several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pallbearers were Stanley Mills, Mark Judd, Javier Ramirez, Nathan Rutherford, Jared Flowers, and Bobby Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Frank Sherrod, Daniel Flowers, Tony Johnson, Jesus Ramirez, Wendall Powell, Donald Hall, Huey Steptoe, and Speck Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
