Lady Eagles defeat Pinewood Patriots

   On Tuesday, August 7, David Emanuel Academy varsity softball team hit the road for its first away game. The Lady Eagles started the season off with a bang, beating the Tigers of Claxton High School 8-0.

   Senior Carli Patterson put on a stellar performance, ringing up 14 hitters in just five innings to complete a no-hitter.
   Offensively, DEA brought the hammer down with eight hits combined throughout the lineup. Emma Proctor was 1-1; Jordyn Bell, 2-3 with two runs scored; Alana Tant, 2-3 with one run scored; Jaylin Hall, 1-3 with one run scored; and Sarah Jo Perkins, 1-3 (dbl) with two runs scored. Patterson was 1-4 and plated two runs herself.
   David Emanuel’s next game will be Thursday, Aug. 16, versus Edmund Burke Academy in Waynesboro. The Lady Eagles will play three more away games after that before returning to Stillmore.
