Firefighters face full moon weekend

   On Thursday, August 23, at 3:37 p.m., fire units were dispatched to 104 Nannette St. in Swainsboro. Engine 1, 3, and 6 along with Ladder 7, EMS, and Swainsboro Police responded to the call. Upon arrival, they found the attached garage with heavy fire showing from a motor vehicle. The fire was quickly knocked down with 1 3/4 attack line. There was no fire spread into the home itself. The owners were able to retrieve one vehicle from the garage prior to fire department arrival. The fire is believed to have started in the Chevrolet Camaro. The cause is undetermined. There were no reported injuries.

   On Friday, August 24, a structure fire was reported at 840 Bailey St. at 11:15 a.m. Units from Twin City, Garfield, and Swainsboro responded on the initial alarm. On arrival, units found heavy smoke from a doublewide mobile home. Additional fire units were requested from…
