In 2009, Andy Williams began his love affair with honeybees and since then, it has only grown. When Williams met his wife, Melissa Ann, “the honey bee queen,” their first encounter was based on conversation of bees. Their second was inspecting one of Williams’ beehives in Savannah.

Moving to Emanuel County approximately four years ago, the couple brought their love of farming, beekeeping, and each other with them. Together, they produce raw honey, handmade beeswax candles and lip balms, and have performed dozens of bee removals from building and trees throughout the southeast. Their 7-year-old son recently began to assist with the beehives, and the couple hopes he continues to follow their dream for the love of honey for many years to come.

With this dream being the couple’s reality, Williams was recently recognized by the Swainsboro Exchange Club as a local certified beekeeper and bee removal specialist.
