EMS to offer course for churches

by | August 2, 2018 4:39 pm

Beginning today, August 2, Emanuel County EMS will present a medical first responder course for churches from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly at Swainsboro Fire Department. This course will be provided at no cost and is grant-funded by the Georgia Trauma Commission.

Today, churches are becoming more aware of safety threats against their members. At the same time, EMS personnel are concerned about accidents that might occur at your church or with groups from your church at youth camps or on church trips. For this reason, Emanuel County EMS is offering to train church members to become medical first responders. This course uses the nationally accepted Department of Transportation curriculum. There is no cost to the church or the individual.  The successful student will be given a fully stocked emergency equipment bag (jump kit) and a safety vest at the end of the course.
