Elton Binion Turner Sr., 86

A memorial service for Elton Binion Turner Sr., 86, of Twin City was held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Christian Ministries 1with Reverend Brad McKenzie officiating. He went to be with his Lord Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Elton Binion Turner Sr. was born January 4, 1932 in Milledgeville to the late Sam Turner and Lillie Bell Turner. He served three years in the United States Navy, was a certified public accountant for 53 years, and was a partner in Turner & Jones LLC with offices in Swainsboro and Statesboro. Turner was Rotary Club president from 1980 to 1981, a Mason, a Shriner, and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was also treasurer and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church for 20 years, and he helped establish The Christian Church in Milledgeville and Statesboro. Turner was a member of both the Georgia Society of CPAs and Emanuel Christian Ministries. He loved God, his family, his friends, and all creations great and small. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rose Marie Rich Turner of Twin City; sons, Jack Lanier (Lisa) Parham of Twin City, Jonathan David (Wanda) Parham of Swainsboro, and Elton Binion (Valerie) Turner Jr. of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Haley Marie Parham, Lacey Renee Parham, Kirrin Elizabeth Parham, Aria Rose Turner, and Elton Binion Turner, III; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
